Welcome to Wunderhorn Press

Wunderhorn Press publishes music of interest to horn students and instructors. Our catalog features pieces for horn ensemble (octet, sextet, quartet) and solo and duo recital pieces with piano accompaniment. We also offer an excellent and concise method for undergraduate students, Warm-Up and Daily Regimen for the Horn.

We have created a number of compositions which have been used for many years as repertoire for the horn ensemble at Carnegie Mellon University. In the process, these pieces have been adopted by several area universities and private horn instructors.

We feel that these pieces may be of use to you as a horn instructor or student. They have all been tested in rehearsal, and most have been played live in recitals and concerts. Because they vary in length and difficulty, we have provided audio files which you may listen to, so that you can judge their suitability for yourself. In addition, your students can surf to our website to listen to a piece they have been assigned, giving them some conception of its tempo and style.

Our site has separate pages for solo pieces, duets, quartets, sextets, octets, and our well-reviewed horn method. You may navigate to these pages by clicking on the buttons in the left margin or at the bottom of each page.

Many of the compositions on our site are available free of charge. You may simply download the zip file containing the score and parts in pdf format. Print the pdf files on any printer and use them with our compliments. There is no "small print." If you wish to know why we are doing this, please click here.

A few of our compositions are available for a nominal fee to help us maintain this website. If you wish to order any of these, please email the webmaster.

We at Wunderhorn Press hope that you find some useful and enjoyable music on this site, and that we are performing a valuable service to horn instructors and their students.
